Doctor Complaint: James Chapman - Alliant Physical Therapy Group
I have worked with several physical therapists in Milwaukee, and I can safely say that James Chapman is - without question - the worst physical therapist in the entire city. If not the state of Wisconsin!
1.) He performed a quick, laissez-faire test on my complicated joint ailment.
2.) He prescribed a couple of useless theraband exercises which I did for months with no improvement, and thus wasted hundreds of hours of my time. During this period, I had a lot of physical pain and lost many nights of sleep.
3.) He prided himself on being different than the other physical therapists who, in his words, "dogsit" their clients. He told me he only wanted to see me once (with no follow-up visits), despite the complicated nature of my injury.
4.) He never gave a time-line, or any sort of strategy plan, for what to do if the physical therapy wasn't working.
5.) When I finally got a new physical therapist (many months later), she was shocked at how badly he diagnosed my problem, how intellectually lazy he was, and how he required no follow-up visits. She suspects he only saw me once because I am on Medicare (i.e. - less money for him than a normal HMO). Money, apparently, is more important to him than a grandparent in pain.
So, it is because of the insistence of my new physical therapist that I've written this report. Save yourself time, pain, and needless suffering - avoid James Chapman! There are many more educated and compassionate physical therapists in Milwaukee and Wisconsin. Mr. Chapman needs to get a new day-job.
