Doctor Complaint: Dr.charles M. Myer - Cincinnati Childrens Hospital

My daughter suffered a nose injury at a school sports function and the emergency room told me to tak her to an ear nose and throat specialist iI chose Dr. Myer of Childrens hospital because 1. childrens hospital would be the best place for her since everything there is geared towards children, and 2. I have a friend who takes her child there to see a Dr. who also has an office within the hospital and he is her childs primary care Dr. and all the Dr's and the hospital are in network on our insurance plan. Well to see a specialist it is a copay of $30.00 which we paid on the 1st and 2nd visits (at Childrens hospital ) and also on the 3rd visit ( at the Dr's Northern Ky location) at the 2nd visit the Dr. sprayed nasal spray up her nose and looked inside her nose with a scope. a month after the 2nd visit I recieved a bill from the hospital for $100.00 i called them and they said that my insurance coverage is that if we are treated in a hospital we hae to pay $100.00 and I explained that we never left the Dr's office and they said it didnt matter that he is an employee of the hospital and they have the right to bill me, however if you look this Dr. up omline it says he is a private business (listed at his Northern Ky location) I dont feel I owe this bill as my primary care Dr. is affiliated with a hospital and everytime I see him I do not get a bill from the hospital. I have called my insurance company and all they can say is the bill codes are correct so i guess they like to pay out money that is not deserved.

First, after the co-pay are you responsible for any unpaid balances or is your insurance where agreed amounts are paid and anything else is waived by the doctor? your insurance company can tell you this. if you are liable for the balance did you receive a bill from the doctor or just the hospital? if your insurance say's that there is a contractual agreement after the co-pay and the balance you are not responsible for then there should be no bill anywhere. just make sure that the 100.00 is not a balance that your insurance company say's you are responsible for. if it is a balance where there is a dispute you feel is contractual with the insurance company get a copy of the statment of paid benifits from your isnurance company and send to the billing dept certified with tracking (only a couple of $'s). if they are still billing you then you should write the insurance company, cc: the hospital, doctors office, ohio & Kentucky Medical Boards & both State Deptment of Insurances, all in the same letter spell out the incident and state that you beleive that you are being fradulently billed. That you saw the doctor in a private practice but he uses the same billing company as the hosp;ital and that the visit was at a private practice with a referral from the emergency room and you choose to see the doctor outside of the hospital setting. make sure the bill wasn't from the emergency room visit either.

I use to think Cincinnati CHILDRENS was The best but i was very wrong well at least In The pediactric primary Care Center. The doctors act like they Dont Care at all they act like they just need to hurry Up with you In order to get to The next child. They almost always over look one or two out Of The five concerns you have for your child. I took My child for a sick visit because My child was stiffening And yelling In obvious agony, The doctor checked his ears And said he didnt see anything that could be causing pain And told us we were ok to go. I was so angry i was In tears. My child has been screaming In,pain,for almost a whole day And thats all he did. I absolutely hate The doctors In The pediatric primary Center And im looking to remove My child asap.
