Doctor Complaint: Dr Tiffany Jessee - Palms Of Pasadena Hospital
Lap band surgery was performed on 12/09/2010. Discharge was 12/10/2010. Lapband removed on 12/11/2010. To remove the lapband the patient was taken to Largo Medical Center where she remained for 39 more days. She had the transenterix (spider)system surgery with an allergan lapband.
She now has no lapband a huge scar and was lucky to survive this surgery. Her surgeon went on vacation immediately after removing the band and did not return for 2 weeks.
The patient was a healthy 24 year old woman who was over weight. She endured 39 days in ICU with many medical proceedures and many catscans. She contracted VRE, pnemonia, and a mysterious fluid drainage problem. She had a total of 4 drains in her body. Upon discharge she left with a wound vac for her 7"deep x 13 inch wide wound. She was then an out patient with home health care..then she was placed on a med to dry up the drainage which also took out most of her hair. This patient is my daughter (I am speaking for her since she has a disability) I have never received an explanation for this. The surgeon says "she has no idea of what happened" but the surgery pictures reveal what looks like a caustic burn in her body and I would be glad to share them with anyone seeking lapband surgery from this surgeon or her hospital. I asked for the results of the lapband analysis 3 times and was told each time she would get them to me...but contact with the Allergan company reveal they knew nothing of this. That is our story about medical care in St Petersbur Florida.
