Doctor Complaint: Various Doctors - Porter Adventist Hospital
My husband's primary care physician sent him to Porter with a diagnosis of liver cancer. We went because husband in great pain. We went in saying repeatedly no surgery, no chemo/no radiation but they still kept him for 7 days & charged us/insurance $60,000. We already knew he had cancer but they did liver biopsy results of which still not given to us. We had to stay because we wanted to be able to get pain drugs to do home hospice. Finally got him released after getting Patient Advocate involved. There was no dr. in charge but a "team" of 5 or so doctors. They would give my husband pain medicine then come in & want to talk to him. Very frustrating for my husband. Got differing comments from all these various doctors. Don;'t go to this hospital. They're all the same. Want your money more than anything.
