Doctor Complaint: Er Doctor - Vassar Brothers Medical Center Er Department

This is on incident of many all with the same concuision. I am a diabetic with many GI issues, including Gastro Parisis, GERD, IBM. Since I can't find a pain management faciliey which could assist me. My condition begins as nausia and then progresses to vomiting which is out of control and I can't stop it on my own. I have gone as long as 20hours prior to going to the ER. Once in the ER, I might wait over 3hours to get a room of which time I am still very ill. The solution which works for me and supported by many internet searches done is to provide me with a strong dose of Zofran and some pain meds to help the painul cramping. Sometimes the ER Doctor asks me what works for me and when I tell them, they give me everything but what I claimed works. So now I have to act dumb and end up taking meds which I know won't and didn't work. Thse were frequent visits as I have been trying several GI doctors to find onw to help me. The last 2 months I've managed to stay out of the hospital but upon my last visit the ER doctor called my GI doctor who was on call and said Hi doctor your wonderful Mr. Walsh one of our frequent flyiers are here. this was in earshot of me and very distirbing and unprofessional. They look at my overal visits which were over 6o this year, but never took considertion to my attemt not to go to the ER which I hadn't for the last 2months. By the nature of the doctors attitude, it reflexs on the nurses, who gave lots of attitude.

So when a person should be looking forward to visiting for symptom reliefe. in my esperiende it only causes anxiety which doesn't help my health. I've tried to reach out to the hospital but they are more interested in defending them selves than to rectify the problem. I know many others who have the same problem.

I NEED HELP SO I CAN GET THE HELP I DESERVE.

One more thing to add. The last time I asked the ER doctor not to give me Reglan due to the negitive side affects. As I was dicharged the Dr. did indeed with out my permission injeected me with Reglan. This I believe is against the law

the er is for emergent life threatening issues. since you have been seen 60x this year and you are still alive, it seems that they did their job. it is not their responsibility to treat your chronic pain. just b/c your prefer dilaudid and phenergan and ativan or whtaever does not mean you get it. doctors can use their discretion regarding medical management.

p.s. negative side effects are different than true drug allergies. so it is not "against the law" to administer drugs with side effects. most drugs have side effects. your chronic pain is not the er's responsibility. if you can find a gi doctor then why can't you find a pain management doctor? stop making upstanding taxpayers like me support your abuse of the er.
