Doctor Complaint: Richard Hazen - Baylor Med Ctr At Grapevine

Avoid Dr. Richard Hazen. Do not trust your care or your loved ones care with this 'so called' physician.
During the most terrible time in my families life, Dr. Richard Hazen felt it appropriate to become verbally abusive. After we were just told that our loved one could not be saved, we began pleading for anything that could be done. Dr. Richard Hazen began yelling at my family that nothing could be done and why don't we understand. Can you imagine hearing this from a doctor whose role is to help people and save lives? Dr. Richard Hazen was so horrible, abusive and insulting to my family that even the hospital chaplain was shocked, commented that he was out of line (apoligized to us) and then walked over to talk to the doctor.
Don't subject yourself or loved ones to the care of Dr. Richard Hazen and stay clear of Baylor Grapevine Hospital. We received no support whatsoever from the staff - not even the supposely caring nurses. What heartless people....I hope and pray that you never experience anything like my family did.

How this man is still in practice is beyond me. He is abusive, hateful and totally lacking in compassion. My best friends husband has been in Baylor (ICU) since the first of Jan and his demeanor has not changed sine the first time he entered the room.
He insulted the patient, is dismissive of questions of concern and treats members of the family with no respect at all. I think she is afraid to complain because of her husbands medical condition. Hopefully a complaint will be lodged with the hospital at some point.

I find this hard to believe with Dr. Hazen. He has been wondering with my family, however, if he can't do anything that's is all he can do. It is hard on a family but the truth doesn't change. My father was treated by another doctor and we were told he had 6 months to live. Take him home and make him comofortable. We did and he only lived 6 months. Cherish the time you have left and don't fight what the doctor is telling you.
