Doctor Complaint: Kevin P. Collins, Md - Edward Hospital
The worst part of this whole situation is that the “doctor,” out of the blue, kept insisting that he wasn’t going to give me anything stronger for pain. <b>The problem in this situation is that I NEVER even asked for anything stronger and never brought up my meds at all.</b>
But I did beg over and over for an MRI and X-Ray that Collins who saw me for 9 or 10 seconds in total, steadfastly refused. Dr. Collins repeatedly said he wasn’t going to give me anything stronger. Without knowing or even giving a sh*t about my history of chronic pain I find those statements very offensive. It is good that he at least looked at the list of medications I brought with me, another doctor, Linda Mueller, MD, didn't and could have killed me. (See previous complaint.)
It took 7 weeks and a wasted doctor visit that I had to pay for to finally get the MRI which revealed extensive damage to my knee which will require surgery. 7 weeks of useless suffering thanks to this doctor's determination that I was a narcotic seeking hypochondriac. Plus another 6 weeks just to see an orthopedic surgeon. <b>Is this what insurance pays for??? Plain 'ole nothing?!!!</b>
After complaining to the CEO, Pam Davis and the ER Director, Tom Scaletta, MD, I was told by the patient advocate, Ms. Tiller, that "it would be brought up in a grievance committee meeting." The last time I was told this from this hospital, I was never informed of the results at all or even confirmed that it was indeed brought up.
