Doctor Complaint: Na - Cullman Regional Med Ctr
My name is Brian Kenneth Harvey,
I went to emergency room @ 10:30 pm on 06/06/2011 with vomiting, sharp stomach pain. I am a patient with history of a heart condition-have a stint, filled out a card at receptionist desk. Five minutes later seen by admitting patients to emergency room told her sharp stomach pains eight out of ten and had major procedure done in the past a heart stint. She said we will get you back as soon as we get a bed in a couple of minutes. I was seen walking around for two hours in serious pain by numerous people before they took me back. No emergency service was taken, did not assess patients when they come in the door there should someone that knows what there doing at the door of an emergency room. It took at least four hours for me to get treatment I needed after I walked in the door. Someone could die sitting in a chair in your emergency room and no one would even notice. It took them two hours to get me back to a room and then they took labs on me and misdiagnosing me with upset stomach and refused to treat me for the pain until my wife got there. My wife got there sometime after 1:30 am on 06/07/2011 and they decided to treat my pain my wife told them of my heart condition when she got their and they decided to look at my lab and said you have pancreatitis your level for your pancreas is over 4000 and should be under 500. Before my wife got there they where treating me for upset stomach and sending me home and not treating the pain until my wife got there. This was a life or death situation in the emergency room that almost caused me my life upon there actions. I would like for something to be done with the way the emergency room handles there patients I may have to be in emergency room again or a family member. They need to know what to look for and which patient should be seen right away or first not as you come in. I will be with holding my deductible until I here of this matter.
