Doctor Complaint: Dr Was Excellent And Filed A Incident Report - Desert Valley Hospital
My daughter arrived at the ER via ambulance. She'd had a seizure while in her car but was not injured. After being medicated, the ER discharged her. I went to get my car, and came back to find her in front of the ER in a seizure, on the ground. She had been allowed to WALK out of the ER with her young brother, instead of being taken out in a wheelchair by a nurse! She fell to the ground, hitting her head, and scraping her body. Now, she required a CT scan and wound care. She ended up staying in the hospital overnight for observation.
It's sad that she arrived to the ER safely and uninjured, only to be injured by neglegence on the hospital's part. The hospital staff reviewed her case, and decided that they did no wrong in discharging an epileptic, who was super-medicated, to walk out of the hospital on her own. By the way, while she was in their care, they wouldn't let her go to the bathroom without a wheelchair and supervision!
And, of course, we'll have to foot the bill!
