Doctor Complaint: Dr Breast - Lee Memorial Health System
I am a professional adult female who was admitted to Lee memorial over the weekend after having day surgery at gulf coast hospital . After spending the day until after midnight in the emergency they admitted me.The doctors were very good and nurses as well in the Er.I had a severe allergic reaction to a antibiotic in Er .I had a long few days and my poor husband as well .They roomed me up with a young lady who was getting surgery in morning .I had not spent time in a hospital overnight in 14 years after childbirth.the hospital is older the bed was fairly comfortable .the bathroom was not cleaned well and rooms were not cleaned daily .The first two cna,s were good very compassionate and hard workers .The nurses seemed over worked day nurse never complained but night nurse male was always mentioning he had other people to attend to.my roommate had her surgery early on
Monday alll day and until 5 am when we both fell asleep she was in so much pain no doctor checked on her . The night nurse was was asked over and over to call doc no doc came .He acted like he was the doc but had just barely been a nurse for a year.she was jerked up roughly to move her body like he was angry .I am on my third night and took my first walk with my roommate after introduced to our new night cna who I was friendly said hello and she had a beautiful name . She immediately told the nurse the room was filthily and it needed to be cleaned and when she asked me how I felt I said ok except my stuffy ear .She rudely told the nurse he needed to address that .My roommate and I walked She in her gown with robe and me in my pj pants and old rock tee. We were pushing our Ivs and my old iv on one arm that was transferred to a new port 3 hours earlier began to bleed my roommate asked for tissues to help me . We had begun to help each other since no nurses were always there I would help her out of bed and little things .Most staff is friendly and polite . Back to our room and I buzzed my buzzer to ask to have our room cleaned the floor had a large black sticky mark and bathroom needed cleaning aim last roll of tp.It was mopped and no tp. Our nurse arrived took out both if my iv ports and said he wanted to rest my arms they are bruised
From inexperienced hospital employees .My roommate was shivering and scared room was freezing .I buzzed again asking how to control heat my roommate was freezing as well as myself.A another cna came in not our attending person showed me and left. A few hours. Later I buzzed for my pain meds it wAs getting bad for menand as a connivence asked for my roommates soda she requested 3 hours earlier to save a trip for them . My cna who I had not seen since 7 am when our nurse arrived then stormed into our room and in a loud violent tone and said to me what do you want you need to not worry about your roommate worry about you she was screaming at me she can rake care if herself .I stated that I wanted my medication as I asked for on the speaker and a drink .She can not give medications I addressed her calmly and used a direct voice . I m a mother a professional and a non violent person and married to a police officer thus lady was clearly out of control .She continued saying I've been doing this all night I said I Met you for 5-7'mintues at 7 pm what are you talking about.Her voice was angry and I also said I'm trying to save you a trip .My room mate said I'm right here you are talking about me like I am not here and my roommate is not speaking for me I asked her to mention the drink.Who do you think your talking to like that.She said its all documented every call in a yelling tone.My roommate and myself are clearly getting worried this lady is not right.IShe said your in volition of our hipa rules of privacy ,I said for asking for a soda. How is that a legal issue I'm here to get well and you are upsetting us both because she asked for a drink 4 hours ago . My nurse came in she was yelling in the hall .I was shaking my room mate was shaking .My room mate said she was checking out I called my husband but he was asleep I was in tears .I told the nurse I do not want her in our room at all . My point is do they give mental health screenings for the people they hire.
