Doctor Complaint: Medical Records Dept. - Emory University Hospital
I'm a cancer patient and needed medical records to be transferred to another clinic for a second opinion. I sent the request filling out a form that emory provided on the internet and faxed it to the Medical record department as instructed. One week later the records are still not sent, i called the Emory medical records they told me they never recived the request, I told them it was strange since I have the fax receipt that the pages were sent and the printout from the fax of the page I sent. I re-faxed the request and called back after 3 days. They told me they mailed it with no tracking number. I was wondering if tha ends up in someone else's hands that would be prety bad. So I aske dif that wasn't a patient privacy violation and they hung up on me.
I called back several times and they never picked up the phone. So I called from another phone while waiting from the other line, they picked up the phone thinking it was someone else. It goes on and on.
I think this goes beyond unprofessional since this is a health related issue. I'm not looking for compassion, just wish for more professional people who care about doing their job right and help patients with their needs.
Emory might be a well recognized University but the admin staff is extremely dangerous to people's health.
