Doctor Complaint: Amery - Albany Medical Center

I'm not quite sure how much detail I should reveal because rehashing this experience was so upsetting for our family. I'll start off by firmly stating that there was little to no communication between the doctors/nurses and our family. Point in reference, my father in law had a stroke while in the hospital and a nurse told us in passing as if we had already been advised 48 hours after the fact. In what world is that acceptable? The more poignant statement is that in two weeks, not one doctor came by to relay us patient status. The nurses allowed their patient to sit in his fecal matter and ignored requests from his family that he be cleaned. When I called the nicu nurse's station to request who the nurse on duty was so that I could make a complaint they hung up on me. There was nothing intensive about the care and I look forward to making a formal complaint naming the staff members that are sure to regret the way they handled my father in law.
