Doctor Complaint: Calhoun - Arkansas Surgical Hospital

I had to use this hospital on two occasions for spinal injections. The procedure required an IV. The nurse was NOT gentle and when I welled up she called me a "big baby" and said "it didn't hurt that bad". I may not be the toughest person around but I have never had that much pain from an IV before. I wish I'd got the nurse's name so I could complain to her superior.

My second complaint is about their billing department. First, the price was OUTRAGEOUS and I was unable to work for a few months so the payments I sent in were around $30 each time. About 32 days after the procedure I began getting calls from the hospital saying my payment was due in full and that I was going to be turned over to a collection agency. When I expressed that I had sent in a partial payment they told me it wasn't good enough and not part of their policy on payment. I am now getting threatening letters and calls from them.

They have to be the most unprofessional, money minded, hateful "care givers" I have ever dealt with.

wow that sucks that your iv insertion hurt so much, especially since it seems that you have been dealing with so much pain in general. in terms of the billing, why are they harassing you if you already setup $30/month payment plan for your pre-planned, non-emergent, scheduled treatments? since your job must have required heavy lifting/manual labor for you not to be able to work for a few months...finances must be tough. did you inquire about their "policy on payment" prior? did they bill you more than they quoted? I am sure you don't like to work w/out getting paid, they probably feel the same.
