Doctor Complaint: L - Medical Center Of Plano
My wife had a vaginal birth and stayed in the hospital for 3 days. The total charge that the hospital billed us was $12,205 which is $3,252 more than the maximum ($8,953) agreed up on by the Aetna insurance per insurance policy (Choice POS 11) for this type of procedure. I have not included other charges that should be included in this estimate. If I do the bill would be more than $5000 above the estimated cost.
The reason we choice plano medical was partly because of these estimates which the hospital confirmed were genuine before the procedure. There was no complacations that warranted this hike. I also belief because my employer was in the process of dropping Aetna insurance , the insurance has not been forth coming on this issue.
The doctor charge was within the estimated cost and we cleared our part of the bill promptly.
I am therefore disputing the coinsurance payments of $2,315.58. Kindly note that the bill amounting to $5,186.40 has already been settled.
