Doctor Complaint: Billing - Davis Hospital & Medical Ctr
Complaint is about their long term payment/collection agency. I've dealt with them over the years. (Davis Hospital Utah) 2008, made payment arrangements but same person called every other week saying there was no record of payment arrangements. Called the "real" Davis Hospital and got it fixed. Bill was paid. 2009, paid on a bill for months and months. Missed payment date by a couple of weeks. They called & said, well if you can pay today you can get 30% off ($400+ off). I had just gotten my tax refund that morning so I took advantage of that. Incurred another expense in 2010, paid for months & months. The payment date doesn't jive with my pay period, so again, pay a couple of weeks after but still monthly. Last month they said, pay in full & we'll take 30% off. I couldn't but did make the payment. This morning I got my tax refund, called them and offered to pay the bill in full. B&^t& said - no discount. Called the "real" Davis Hospital. They agreed that it shouldn't be arbitrary, that I should get a discount, and to call back and ask for a supervisor. Problem is, same woman answers the phone. Even in the emergency room, the "real" hospital said you owe $xx but will give you 25% off for paying in full that day(which I did). So, the lesson is, if you want the discount, don't ever offer to pay them, wait for them to offer. Believe me, if I had an extra $2000 laying around every year, I would pay it in full. The "real" hospital is pretty reasonable.
