Doctor Complaint: Dr. Idon'tknow - Florida Hospital
Our 18 yr. old son was transported to the Florida Hospital Celebration with severe stomach pain. He was placed on a bed in the hallway for our entire stay from 10 p.m. until approx. 4 a.m. He was seen by the doctor approx. 3 times the entire night. At one time he was taken away for an ultrasound, and we believe an MRI. My husband and I made the mistake of not going with him. The attendant said it wasn't necessary. We later learned this was a mistake on our part because when we received our bill, there were many tests that we have questioned if they even did. Our son said they did an MRI and an ultrasound, and the radiologist sat him out in the hallway to wait for the attendant. The attendant never did come back, and he was in pain and frustrated and walked the hospital looking for us. When he returned he vomited, with me holding the bedpan and cleaning it up. The nurse viewed all of this. Not a good experience at this hospital. We received the bill, and to our astonishment it was over $10,000 for services. We've been in many emergencies rooms and have had testing done and have never received this poor of service and a bill that high. My question: Is Florida Hospital Celebration taking advantage of vacationers? I'm starting to question that theory. So is our insurance company.

Absolutely filthy. My 95 year old mother who has no voice and cannot get to the bathroom, needs help to use a bed pan. Last night,May 29th. she was in agonizing pain and needed help to use a bed pan. My mother rang for help..no one came for three hours. They finally gave her a pain pill but she had lay there crying in pain incapable of doing anything for herself.
My sister talked with the C.E.O. of the hospital whose name is Zeff Ross over a week ago and he promised better care but the care has only gotten worse!
On top of negligent staff, the food service has not gotten her food orders correct in two weeks.
She is very limited in what she can eat, the nurses are aware of this yet every meal comes up wrong. Sometimes she has to wait hours before they send her what she is able to eat.
It is a wonder they haven,t killed her. My sister is there almost all day fighting to get them to help my mother.
The care is so negligent there that she is crying to let her go home and die.
They said she needs physical therapy before she can go home. They ordered it on a Wednesday but nothing happened till the following Sunday. They kept her in this abusive environment longer then they should have. I have never in my life threatened to sue anyone or organization but if there are others who read this and have have rotten things occur for loved ones at this hospital please right it up and call Florida agency for health care at 888 419 3456.
