Doctor Complaint: Dr. Woods - Orange Park Medical Center
I went next door to the ER (Urgent Care) and they escorted me to the ER saying that is where I need to be. I was having SEVERE 10 on the pain scale kind of pain. I saw Doctor Woods (Do not see her)... She wanted to run a female scan, and that was it. I told her I had already had that done. She did it anyway. After that, she said there was nothing wrong and was ready to send me home. I was still in excruciating pain, so I told her I wanted her to run more tests... She ran a sonogram, and it came back negative. She tried sending me home then, and I told her I wanted someone to ACTUALLY try and help me! I told her I wanted another doctor, and she said she would get one. A few minutes later a nurse came in and said I was being discharged. I told her no, that another doctor was supposed to be coming... She said there was not, and that Dr. Woods told me to be discharged. I told her I wanted to see patient advocate, they refused. She told me if I did not leave, they would make me leave. So, I was going into hysterics because of the pain I was in and they gave me some kind of medicine to make me go into those hysterics. So, instead of trying to help, security came and escorted me out even though I was still in severe pain. At least security apologized and said they didn't think it was right.
Now, this morning, I get a call from Orange Park Medical, asking if I want to pay the $10,500 by check or credit card today. I am irritated and trying to figure out what I can do...
Can they just refuse me to see patient advocate or another doctor? Or just lie to my face saying they are getting another Dr. and instead they are having me discharged?? My husband was there and can stand up for everything that happened.
