Doctor Complaint: Not On Bill - Sarasota Memorial Hospital
Whenever services are provided by SMH through outpatient facilities they own, the bill you receive has a total amount due and a vague description, "imaging" or the like. I requested an itemized copy and was told I had to sign a release and provide a copy of my drivers license in order to get one. They claim this is HIPPA compliance. I signed releases for billing(indeed I have an un-itemized copy of the bill) but they say it doesn't cover my request. They should change that. They are providing an obstacle to access. More lack of customer service!
