Doctor Complaint: Dr. Dunn - Baylor Univ Medical Center
In June of 2009, I was a patient at the heart center for Baylor Hospital and had to have a stent put in my subclavin. In the process, they found a blockage in my right groin, so in July, I went back to have another stent put in to remove the blockage. I was molested by a male nurse in the recovery room after the preceedure. He was applying pressure to my left groin area to stop the bleeding and then all of a sudden I felt him rubbing me in my vaginal area. I had my eyes closed because thats the way I deal with pain, but I opened them wide when I felt him rubbing me. I feel like if I hadnt of opened my eyes,he would of penetrated me vaginally. His response was that he was removing dried blood and all I could think of is why would blood be there and since that area is moist, the blood couldnt dry. Shortly after that, I was taken to my room to lay there for six hours. My son noticed right away that something was wrong and I told him I had been molested. He went and got a nurse right away and I started telling her what had happened, but she went and got another nurse and I told her. She left the room and returned with the male nurse that molested me. I was in such shock that she did that and it felt so insensitive to me. I finally left the hospital and the next day I called the Baylor Police Dept to file a report. I was soon contacted by a detective and he said he would come out, to my home, and take a sworn statement the next day and he brought a man with him to notorized my statement. He said an investigation would be done and he would notify me of their findings. At 10am the next morning he called to say they found in favor of the hospital and sorry I felt I had been wronged. I am the victim and this man got away with what he did to me scott free. I have now been diagnosed with PTSD and my life will never be the same ever again. I have medical problems and I cant go to see a doctor unless a friend of mine goes with me. This isnt fair to me on so many levels and of course, Baylor doesnt care. Just be careful going into any hospital because there may be a molester treating you. I never thought this would ever happen to me, but it has. I am going to contact the media, an attorney, the Attorney Generals Office of Texas, and anyone else that will listen to my story and perhaps I can get some sort of justice.
