Doctor Complaint: Dr. Gonzaga - Froedtert Mem Lutheran Hosp
Ninety-four year old Mom went in to Froedert Hospital with a phenmonia.
Dr. Gonzaga and Dr. Dashir placed her in pallative care. They treated her for five days with two anitbiotics and with breathing on a bipap machine. She made no progress so they were done with giving her antibitics. We (her kids and POA's) had to fight to get the seven to ten day course of antbiotics that most younger people get to treat an infection.
No breathing treatments,duo neb, muccomist, to help her progress and help her get rid of the secretions.
On the tenth day they stopped antibiotics, bipap machine, and even her vitamins,seizure, and diuretic med. They wouldn't let her go
home with her daughter by delaying discharge.
Dr. Gonzaga and DR. Bashir overstepped the daughter and gave mom sedative heavy duty narcotics against the mom's and daughter's (POA's)
wishes.
They did not share the name of the
drug and called security to restrain the daughter as they had the nurse
inject it into her mom's arm. When you get too old even though you may want to live society and hospitals
will not give you the chance to do so by providing you with the best care. It's a throw away society......why keep old people alive? How sad it is..... we do need reform!
