Doctor Complaint: Roo - Johns Hopkins Bayview Med Ctr

I went to the ER at Bayveiw and waited for over 4 hrs to be given a brief ineffective exam then offered a muscle relaxant and then asked for a pain reliever the doctor treated me like a drug addict. I drove 120 miles for what i hoped was superior care and wasted my time. My local doctor ordered an MRI and i was diagniosed with a bulging disc in my back. This ER is in the middle of a ghetto area and the staff assumed I was drug addict. Don't go to that ER with pain.

After a car accident, my 15 yr old daughter with dandy walker with onset of hydrocephalus was transported (against my wishes) to bayview ER. I have never seen or experience such terrible, unprofessional and nonchalant attitudes in a hospital ER. Both of my daughters may as well be part of the furniture. My 15 yr old recently had her CV Shunt replaced and the paramedics and staff at the ER was made aware and she was experiencing severe headaches. I also made them aware that she could possible have seizures which was another sign of shunt malfunction. When we arrived you would have thought that she had a cut on her finger. It took radiology hours to get a CT Scan and since I work at a local hospital I was well aware of the procedures for acute care patients, especially pediatrics! I had to track down a 2nd year pediatric resident and insist that he check to see if her results had come down from radiology. Their response was that radiology is busy! I was astonished at the attitudes. Excuse "we are busy" but we do look in on her???!!!?? My oldest daughter "FAINTED" in the waiting area...they put her in a neck brace and in a wheelchair and after 3 hours came by to check on her...I quickly signed a AMA and grab my kids and went to another hospital where the "real" doctors are! NEVER AGAIN and I have not even begun to make them aware of this kind of neglect emergency care.
