I went to a clinic because I was exhibiting the symptoms of a Peptic Ulcer. The Doctor at the clinic agreed and issued an order for an upper GI scan. The clinic was run by Mercy so I was under the impression that I needed to stay within the Mercy system. I rang the XRay lab at Mercy who's staff treated me like a burden and an irritatn, they then redirected me to 'central scheduling' who were also amazingly short with me from the get-go, and informed me that I didn't need an appointment. So I went in the following morning without eating breakfast (for a GI Scan you have to fast 6 hours prior) and was informed by a very short tempered staff that I did need an appointment. They then proceeded to lecture me about it as if I were a small child. I went to the front desk to file a complaint, and waited 10 minutes as the front desk receptionist was too busy socialising with her friends to worry about me the patient. At the end of the day, I didn't get my scan at all, was treated like an idiot, and I took my business to Northwestern Memorial Hospital where I was actually treated like a human being and an adult.
