Doctor Complaint: Dr. Jeffrey Tse - St David's Medical Center
A year and a half ago I caught this same sort of viral bronchitis. Not having insurance I ignored it hoping I would heal on my own. Instead I got so sick that I went into tachycardia and had to be hospitalized for three days. St. David's was closest to my house, so that is where I went. Everyone was very nice and helped me get well. When I was discharged they told me that if it ever happened again to come back there. They had my records and would give me a breathing treatment and take care of me, regardless of my ability to pay.
Yesterday I recognized that I was close to that point again, and needed to get help, so I went back to St. Davids with trust in my heart. The RN that was assigned to me, Martha, was very nice and compassionate. She had me get into a gown and wait for the Doctor. When Doctor Tse came in he seemed to listen to me and then he examined me. 5 minutes after he left the room Nurse Martha came in and said "Ok, hon, the Dr. thinks you have an upper respiratory infection and is letting you go." I said "Wait a minute. I am having trouble breathing and I want him to do blood work just to be sure that there is nothing more going on since I have a bleeding disorder that changes the dynamics of my health from normal patients and I had some bleeding and reason to wonder if that was not a factor." Her response was, "So you are refusing to leave?" I told her not really, I just want to talk to the Doctor about this. When he came in he looked furious. I started to tell him why I wanted a breathing treatment, based on what I was told when I was hospitalized and why I wanted blood work. He held up his hand and said "I am going to interrupt you right there. That is not our job, you need to go to a clinic for that. We don't have time to deal with you here." I tried once again to explain myself to him and tell him what the Doctor upstairs had said about my returning there if I got sick again, and he stormed out of the room. I started crying then. I was sick as hell and trusted them to do what they told me they would do. The nurse shut the door so I could get dressed and as I was naked with my shorts half on, two cops started entering the room. I told them to get the fuck out, I was dressing. I asked the nurse what the hell was going on. She looked genuinely shocked and said she would find out. She came back and told me that the Doctor was having me escorted out of the hospital. By that time I was freaking out. Crying, wheezing, hyperventilating. I told the cops I had not threatened or cursed at the Doctor. They replied with "No one said you did." When I asked why they were escorting me out like a criminal then, they stated it was the Doctor's orders. I demanded to speak to someone in charge with some authority and was told that not only would they not allow that, but if I kept asking, they would put me in cuffs and arrest me. They then escorted me to the ER exit, not allowing me to go through the building to the parking garage. I had to walk all the way around to the garage in the rain, wheezing and crying. It was so humiliating that I can feel my cheeks burning as I am writing this. I got into my van and called my therapist and my mother and they both suggested that I go to Brackenridge. I really just wanted to go home and hide at that point, but I forced myself to suck it up and be brave.
I am eternally grateful that the staff at Brackenridge treated me with respect and kindness. The Doctor there immediately heard the wheezing in my lungs and the fact that I had a fever and that my blood pressure was getting high. They offered to give me pain meds, which I refused because I didn't need them. They ran the proper tests, determined I had an infection and gave me a breathing treatment that made me feel much, much better.
Dr. Jeffery Tse was completely out of line and I would be willing to bet I am not the first patient he has treated with complete disrespect. He is also a colossal pussy for feeling he needed to call the cops on a wheezing, sick 42 year old woman just for disagreeing with him. There is a special level of hell for physicians that break the oath and DO HARM.

I would advise anyone who reads it to take it with a HUGE grain of salt..as the saying goes...this individual is a trouble maker and has serious mental issues! She also has a serious distrust towards anyone in a position of authority. SO it comes as no surprise that she was escorted from the aforementioned Hospital by local law enforcement...if this is fact a true story (which I am guessing it's not).
Please also note that this individual..Phyllis Masters is known to not only engage in daily illegal drug use but also hangs out with fellow habitual drug abusers and drug dealers and criminals that reside in the Austin, TX area.
