Doctor Complaint: Dr. Muhammad Ali - Provena Saint Joseph Hospital

How did a urinary tract infection that requires anti-biotics turn into a $5000 bill? I'll tell you how...you've got a doctor that is petrified of a lawsuit, so he wants to test for a kidney stone...so he orders an ultra-sound. He then said there was a kidney stone, so a CAT scan was ordered...oops no kidney stone, but a ovarian cyst was found, another ultrasound...oops, no ovarian cyst. Have a nice day...oh by the way, here's a bill for $5000.

Shouldn't a doctor have to stand behind his decision to order over-priced tests...if he's wrong, he eats it...just like any other business.

How about this...shouldn't he at least say "this test is very expensive, maybe we should try something else before we incur this cost".

Screw this guy...now I'm in debt to a hospital for absolutley NOTHING!!...At least he covered his ass.

I will never stop bad-mouthing this doctor or hospital. I will cost you more than $5000 in lost revenue.

while i do understand your concern for your bill, i beg to differ concerning the doctor you speak about. maybe he just wanted to make sure he left no stone unturned. he wanted to find out what was wrong with you so he took the extra test. now what if he really didnt care and he ordered no test and sent you home, what would you be saying then?
