Doctor Complaint: Dr,s J. Rappai / K. Gillespie - Jfk Hospital, Er Dept.
First off I am disabled with over 50% muscle wasting, I entered JFK ER with what I thought was a kidney stone, burning urine, pain in kidney area and blood & sediment in urine they took x-ray and CT scan and said just a UTI. I told dr. Rappai I have had UTI's in the past but since my urine stream has changed I was worried. He gave me 2 scripts and the "bums rush" said come back if needed.
Within 8 hours of 1st ER visit I was trying to urinate at home the stream abruptly stopped and BLASTED a new exit out of the side of my penis along with lots of blood and PAIN PAIN PAIN. Back to JFK via squad, where I was seen by Dr. Gillespie I stated above history and he said pouches forming on my penis everytime I tried to urinated were "just hemotomas" and would heal? once again I was given the "bums rush" and was told to follow up with urologist. even though I COULD NOT URINATE just a small amount of urine would ballon up as a new hematoma and sometimes burst a mixture of blood and urine, this fact didnt seem to upset him at all but sent me through the roof with insane amounts of pain, they wouldnt ever cath me.
Now its about 2 weeks later with a shreaded penis, still infected still painfull not knowing if surgery will be needed, but under a urologists care.This could handled alot different admitted, cath'd, more images atleast until the damaged urethra healed so not to create more urine outlets. I called the Dr. back to my bedside at least 3 times but nobody seemed to care. OUCH
