Doctor Complaint: Dr. Guerra - Cedar Park Regional Medical Center
Worst hospital experience ever. Only because the Nurses were pleasant. My grandmother stayed here - apparently - unnecessarily. She stayed over night on the recommendation of the ER Dr. and that was for nothing. She was not rounded on overnight, only twice during the day. She is diabetic, and never had her blood sugar tested. She was not given breakfast or lunch. And the supposed tests she was to receive never happened until after I called to complain. And when I did that- only one test was run. It was like they forgot her completely! The seemed to snap to it after a complaint was made. My grandmother even said it was as if all of a sudden she existed! Dr. Guerra was the worst of it all, he talked down to my grandmother and to us, the family. He dismissed her and basically treated all of us like we were sub-human. He insisted everything went as it should and stated that what we thought her care was to be was not important,He said that, right then and there! She left the hospital, still in pain and still without knowledge of what was causing her pain. I was instructed to call the CEO who left a flyer in the room for people to call if they experience bad service. The flyer even stated that you are rounded on over night every 2 hours and every hour during the day.Well, complaining didn't do a thing, as we received a letter today (over a month later) stating they did exactly as they were supposed to, and issues as far as Dr. Guerra and the meals have been addressed(Right). Avoid this hospital if you can. It is sad that the Cedar Park region is growing and does not have a suitable place for its residents to seek medical care.

15 minutes, 30 minutes, 45 minutes later NOBODY even bothered to check on me...finally after 1 hour wait I went to window asked for all copies of paperwork said I was leaving... receptionist jumped on phone, spoke with someone while nervously glancing at me... she TOLD ME to sit down and nurse would be with me in a few minutes... I responded NO!
Told her I was US Army Veteran and would drive the 50 miles to Temple VA, I left angry and despondent over lack of caring by emergency room staff at Cedar Park Regional Medical Center. They advertise on WEB average ER wait time: 11 minutes!! BALONEY!!! BTW, there was a young couple there with sick baby waiting for over hour to be seen -- WHAT KIND OF PLACE IS THIS ANYWAY??
I called Tim Adams the hospital administrator,
spoke with his assistant Michelle Durham, she was very concerned re: my experience - offered her sympathy and was very nice BUT that does not change what happened.
The spooky thing is; no one came out to check on those of us "waiting" in the lobby, no one!!! Not a Doctor nor a nurse, nor a clerk AND BTW, I looked through the glass doors into the ER Ward, taking careful note of how personnel were casually sauntering around back there... no apparent emergency of any type that would have precluded someone on staff from coming out to the waiting room and checking on us.
I WARN you - think about what I have written here before you decide to use this hospital for any reason.
BTW, I am Cedar Park resident, no one paid me to write this, I do not work in the medical field and have nothing to gain by writing this. I simply wish to warn others about my bad experience there.
