Doctor Complaint: Er Physician - Wilmington Hosp/cchcs
I was brought to Wilmington hospital via Ambulane. I live alone and all neighbors were not available. I was informed that I would receive a cab voucher to home. I had fallen and was in severe back, head pain and my blood glucose was very low. I arrived at the ER. Care was passable at first, but when I complAINED ABOUT ME SEVERE BACK PAIN I WAS IGNORED. I FINALLY ASKED FOR AN ICE PACK AND RECEIVED THAT ONLY. When it was time for my discharge I wal TOLD to leave. I only had my cell phone with me- no monet, no ID. No uses with a left in my left shoe due to leg length decrepiency, not my cane. I was only wearing a light caftan- no under ware or shoes. I was told no. I explained that I could not afford a taxi to take me home due to I only receive a Social Security check monthy and live very lean. I was given slipper socks, a Kotex pad and gauge and told to make my own underware and I could take a bus. I informed the nurse that I was without my shoes and being a Type I diabetic x 45 yeats I would not walk aroung the city in stocking feet and again with no cane nor shoes with my lift I was very unstable on my feet and even had probles ambulating in the ER. My back was never examed, not the lump in the right side I my head. I informed the ER physician about my pain and was still ignored.
I was informed by another physician in PA that I wnet to see about my usual back pain due to hip surgery, had an MRI and was informed yesterday that I have 2 fractured vertebra.
I have also been a RN for 38 years until I became disabled and NEVER treated a patient the way I was treated. I have worked in several states and have never seen patients mistreated by the nurses and physicians as they ate at Christians Care Health System
