Doctor Complaint: Maryvale Hospital - Maryvale Hospital Med Center
Many years ago,I was born in the original Maryvale hospital(which is now a parking lot).Maryvale hospital is the closest hospital to our home, and for many years we used its facilities.
However,they wouldn't be able to locate my mother who was a patient there-twice in one visit.
Upon waiting in the emergency room,we would observe a patient being brought in by ambulance with his head bandaged and bleeding and he would be left to wait in the waiting room with all of us. Or the time when someone drove up with someone who had been shot in the head,the patient was made to walk in and walk down the corridor on his own! These incidents stopped us from ever using this hospital again.
That was until July of 2009 when the paramedics told us since the Maryvale hospital was the closest one to our home that my mother had to be taken there,but that we could move her later-which was highly untrue it turned out.
We received conflicting dr reports.We wouldn't receive information on her upcoming care.We wouldn't be allowed to speak to her specialists. We were refused to transfer her to another hospital. And the final straw was,we were not allowed to take her home,even when she herself told them she wanted to come home,not to a nursing home. And I, as well, with her medical power of attorney was ignored and threatened to be turned into adult protective services if I fought them.
We were not the only ones to have our loved ones kidnapped from us! I was even told that the hospital refers 61% of their patients to nursing homes-they must get a percentage huh!
