Hospital In Complaint

I brought a 50 year old Muslim Black man in to the ER on 061711. He was complaining of chest pains. After being told of his religious orientation the female nurses had to be asked twice to leave the room for him to put on his gown. Then after that he complained of what he thought to be acid reflux and requested a drink of water to stop the pain, this had worked for him before. They told him no and two hours later they finally brought him water after the pain had subsided. He said he didn’t need the water now and the nurse told him “Well you don’t have to drink it then!” She seemed to be insistent to have the last word to the point of being rude.
But what took the cake was the young man that came in to inventory his belongings. He was in the process of being told what he had and WITHOUT asking took it upon himself to go thru the man’s personal bag. This put the man to the breaking point and he told him to leave, the male said he was going to do the inventory. This brought the man out of the bed and face to face with him. The young man left the room, and the Black man said he wanted to leave. During that time security was called and it escalated. While he was getting changed with the door shut I heard one of the personnel outside state “Oh, I can’t take my drugs with me into the hospital?” and other noteworthy comments. Considering all of them were in prescription bottles with his name on them.
Finally, when the 2 male security guards followed us out of the building, they stopped just outside the doorway; one female security guard took it upon herself to follow us over halfway across the parking area to the truck. The whole time talking like she was taking out the trash. This is a sad way to treat an insured customer that has been using this facility for the last 8 years. I have worked security for the last 8 years and have 6 years of the Army before that. I am appalled that anyone would be treated in such a way. And for the record I am white and ashamed that something like this still happens. They have lost a customer and will be facing legal repercussions.
