Doctor Complaint: Skinner - Rush Aka Skokie Hospitak
I went to the ER via ambulance in the late afternoon for blacking out at home, dizziness and severe pain in my arm and face.
Now I had allot of waiting time before I could get something for my pain, but I understood that for they were taking tests first. I felt like someone was stabbing me with hot daggers in my right side of my face and ear and jaw. My left arm was in pain. I could not get up out of the gurney in my ER bay for I was attached to monitors and an I.V..
I was with my boyfriend, but he was out of the room using the men's room and taking a extra long time. I was now alone.I asked him for a pillow before he left to cry in because of my severe pain. I have four infected root canals and cavities with exposed nerve and a torn rotator cup, and I thought I was going to die from pain until I received pain medication let alone scared because I was so dizzy and vomiting. I am chronically ill. Well... after my boyfriend was gone for a while I had to urinate. I was also vomiting and moaning and groaning from pain in my pillow. I had no access to the nurse's call box or was even given one in case I needed it, I didn't even think I had one! I was looking around and didn't see one or one on my gurney. Since I was hooked up to an I.V. giving me fluids for I was dehydrated and this made me need a nurse to get me a bedpan and also I was crying and moaning into my pillow from pain, not knowing about the nurse call button because no one gave me one and I didn't see one anywhere. I had to urinate so bad and I called out for a nurse with no response. A few minutes later I called out for a nurse again and no responded and I proceeded to urinate myself. Then a light skinned heavy set black woman with glasses poked her head in my little room and said very condescendingly," Excuse me, this is an ER". I was a little confused by this for of course it was an ER with babies screaming and people making all kinds of noises in the hallway. I said I knew it was an ER why is she saying this and so mad?? I didn't know why she was doing this to me. Then she repeated herself with a really gruff and condescending tone and told me I was making too much noise. I said I couldn't help it and she closed the sliding door on me. I found out she was working in the pod at a desk facing my room. I was stunned for she was acting like we were all in a library or outside the Hospital where a not so sick person should be quite. She could of been a little nicer or had a little more tact, not knowing what was wrong with me if my moans and groans bothered her so much. My boyfriend finally came back and I very upsetly told him what happened and he found the nurse's call box hung up on a shelf in back of me danging down so I couldn't see it. This Lady must of heard me complain to my boyfriend about her because she snagged her purse and left her desk my boyfriend told me, and came back with security guards pacing back and forth in front of my room all of a sudden! I don"t know if they were meant for me but they kept leering in my room so I had my boyfriend shut the glass door and curtain. Now fast forward to me getting discharged hours later, when I got my discharge papers, it said that I was in the ER for "Giddiness and Dizziness", that's it! Very funny. Was this a stupid joke? She is the one whom wrote out my discharge papers. Over all a couple of the nurses were kind of rude to me but not enough for me to really care to write a complaint. I just could not believe the gall of this lady. I will go to Evanston Hospital from now on if I can help it!
