due to a work related injury i severely injured my back. i felt my spine rotate and my disc pop in several places. i have been to more than a dozen doctors, hospitals and etc. they all told me it was a muscle stain and the pain would go away in 2 mos. i have been in extreme to crucifying pain for 3 yrs, my hands, feet, legs go numb also i have a rib that stays dislocated, tingling and jabbing pain up and down my spine into my neck and into my hips, but yet every doctor refused to give a mri, because my united healthcare insurace and workers comp did not want to pay for it and the doctors would not let me pay for it. all of the doctors stated that an x-ray and a mri for the exact same, but the x-rays were cheaper.
the medical board of ohio said it was againt the law for any doctor to refuse a mri or treatment, but yet the medical board refuses to enforce the law and they told me they enforce that. 2 yrs. later a doctor that just opened his practice. i have 6 herniated disc and keep getting worse. i cannot work, sleep, stand, sit etc. not any doctor will, but me on disability. shots and pain meds don't help at all and i cannot find any doctor, hospital or surgeon that will do back surgery.
i have talked to more than 2 dozen attorneys and everyone of them said they cannot do anything as it is the state medical boards job.
i am a verteran and they would not give me a mri. i had to pay for the mri 100% myself and i have insurance also workers comp, but this is america where you pay into healthcare and they never pay anything out, but yet the president says we have to carry insurance.
